I am a former National Board certified high school English teacher who now writes stories.  I lived in Virginia for eleven years, but my family recently moved to Illinois, where my two children get to see their grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles much more regularly.  It is very cold here for too many months of the year.

In addition to reading lots of books, to maintain my sanity I run at least three days a week and train for half and full marathons.  In Fall 2020, I ran a virtual Chicago Marathon with a Boston Marathon qualifying time (if it had been on an official course, that is).  I also love backpacking (Montana, Canada, Alaska), classical music (Brahms, Mahler, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Bruckner), exploring nature with my family, and my dog.

I do not like being cold or cupboard doors being left open or decorating.
